Next month, after a ten year break, we’ll be returning to exhibit at Ceramic Art London. The time felt right to show our work in person, to make pots that test our abilities, that need physical space and invite appreciation beyond photographic images.
Experimentation and creativity have always been central to our practice – the buzz of being able to bring an imagined pot into reality is a large part of what motivates us. But things rarely work well first time and progress can be frustratingly slow.
Having the CAL deadline to work to is uncomfortable – sometimes even terrifying. As I write, a lot of the work we’re hoping to show is either half made or still a block of soft clay in a plastic bag.
We have been working on some large “tangle” bowls – which at this stage look promising.

The next few weeks will be busy and exciting. I hope the pots turn out to be at least close to the ones in our minds’ eyes and that we’ll be able to show them to you at CAL.
Our stand number is 88.
Ceramic Art London is held at Olympia and runs from May 8th – 10th. For more information and tickets please follow this link.

Hi Tilla and James,
Wow, this looks amazing, and it sounds like this is quite a big thing for you…
I’m sure it’ll be amazing once you get there!
Wishing you anxiety-free, calmness-filled, smooth-working, and creative weeks until the ceramics fair,
with love,
Christina
Thanks Christina, yes it certainly is a big thing for us – our normal life is very quiet, relaxed and secluded so it’ll be outside our comfort zone, but hopefully in a healthy way!
